Upcoming projects
New Star Wars films and series are in the works. One film covers the beginning of the Jedi and another will tie together the various plot threads started in ‘The Mandalorian’ and ‘Ahsoka’, and Jude Law will star in a mysterious series called ‘Skeleton Crew’. We have a clearer idea of what the following films and series entail.

‘Skeleton Crew’.
Jude Law and Kerry Condon star in this series starring children. We don’t know much about it, including when and where it takes place, but Variety recently described it as a ‘galactic spinoff for the whole family,’ and Entertainment Weekly referenced ‘The Goonies’ in describing its tone. So, it’s a kid-driven adventure, but is Law good, bad or neither?

‘The Acolyte’.
This mystery series, which premiered on June 4, will follow ‘a respected Jedi master’ who faces a ‘dangerous warrior from his past.’ According to the trailer, ‘Squid Game’s’ Lee Jung-jae could play that Jedi master, with Amandla Stenberg playing his dangerous rival. Showrunner Leslye Headland revealed that the series takes place about 100 years before the events of ‘The Phantom Menace’.

‘Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi’ (Dawn of the Jedi)
And you thought ‘The Acolyte’ was set a long time ago. James Mangold, director of the latest ‘Indiana Jones’ installment, will direct a ‘Star Wars’ film set 25,000 years before Luke and Leia came on the scene.

Mando and Ahsoka team up on film
Dave Filoni, creator of ‘Ahsoka’ and ‘Star Wars Rebels’ and producer of ‘The Mandalorian,’ will direct a film that will tie together loose ends from the various Disney+ series. This must mean it takes place when they all end, a few years before we meet Rey and the members of the sequels, right? Finally, Grogu will get his chance on the big screen.

Untitled film for Rey
Rey returns! Daisy Ridley will reprise her role in an upcoming film in which she will attempt to rebuild the Jedi Order some 15 years after Rise of Skywalker, according to Variety. We hope to see a lot more of that yellow lightsaber.
